A Burns Supper Guide The annual tribute to the life, works and spirit of the great Scottish poet, Robert Burns (1759-1796). Celebrated on, or about, his birthday, January 25th, Burns Suppers range from formal gatherings to uproariously informal parties. Most Burns Suppers fall in the middle of this range, and adhere to some sort of time honoured form which includes the eating of a traditional Scottish meal, the drinking of Scotch whisky, and the recitation of works by, about, and in the spirit of the Bard.

Publish papers on diverse subjects relating to all cultures from Celtic territories and their diasporas, from all historical periods and geographical locations, within a broadly Cultural Studies perspective. The Tam Lin Pages Tam Lin is an old Scottish ballad about a young man who is captured by the faeries, and the young woman who rescues him. The main character, depending on your viewpoint, is either the young woman who becomes pregnant by her enchanted lover and must rescue him before the faeries can sacrifice him, or the young man who had been living with the faeries & wishes to escape to live with his human love. The story deals with transformations, courage, & the relationship b/t the faeries and the mortals.
