Well,
we've done a few issues of traditional, so not lets take a couple issues and
listen to some of the latest and greatest contemporary Celtic that's going
around. This week, Carbon Leaf and Steve MacDonald. Oh,
and those interested, I've made all my music fully downloadable on my own website.
So if you would like to download, head over to http://artist.amazon.com/marcgunn
. I took down my new CD "Soul of a Harper" to fix a couple problems,
but it should be back up and purchase-able next week. Meantime,
remember to help out the musicians who've graciously donated their music by
purchasing a CD benefitting
the Austin Celtic Association, called "Coventina's Well". Buy
it at _____________________________________SPONSOR__________

Celtic Music Band
Feature Visit the artist's homepage by clicking the
link above High-energy
electric, acoustic, Mandolin Rock with hints of bluegrass, Celtic, jazz and
groove. Started in Richmond, VA in 1994. Carbon Leaf has released five full-length,
independent, critically-acclaimed CDs while constantly touring Mid-Atlantic
clubs and colleges. Carbon
Leaf has been on MP3.com for a long while, and they do a brilliant job of
combining a contemporary Alt Rock musical style with some Celtic riffs as seen
in this song, "The Boxer".
Black
47 came together in 1989 playing a benefit concert for a political activist.
During the set, someone in the audience shouted to them to play something
Irish. Singer and frontman, Larry Kirwan, told the man he was Irish and shut
up and listen. Since then Black 47 has been at the forefront of Celtic scene
as one of the most controversial bands around and the biggest secret in great
Celtic rock, recording eight albums combining an eclectic mix of rock, reggae,
hip-hop and downtown noise fused with Irish traditional music.

Music Band Feature Visit the artist's homepage by

Battle of Flodden September 9th 1513. On of the bloodiest battles in Scotland's
history which saw five to ten thousand Scots killed including 12 Earls, 15
Lords, many Clan Chiefs, an archbishop and the King of Scotland himself James
IV. Such a disaster was this battle that the Scots did not recover from it
for another thirty years.
