Greetings
all, I was casually glancing at my past editions. I began this newsletter
around this time three years ago. It all began with a big bang and really
great CD giveaway that featured about thirty different things given away.
Man, that was a lot of work. And
it's kinda funny. Originally, I meant to feature my band, the Brobdingnagian
Bards in every other issue. And now it's been a few months since we've been
featured. Well, I'm sure you know all about us by now. And this Tuesday if
you're in the Austin area, I would love to see you at our CD Release for
"Memories of Middle Earth". We are performing at the Cactus Cafe
starting at 8:30pm, and this is a huge opportunity for us. So please consider
dropping by. You
can find out more here. FIONA
RITCHIE ON NPR NPR's program "All Songs Considered" featured
Thistle and Shamrock host Fiona Ritchie about the artists shaping new Scottish
music. Great interview with a peak at some of the hottest new Scottish
acts. BAD ADs
& SUBSCRIPTIONS? Last week, I received an "unsubscribe" notice
from one of my readers because of a "cellulite" ad that was added
to the message. Unfortunately, I have no control over the ads at the top
and bottom of my message. Those are all controlled by Topica and Yahoogroups,
my list servers. You
see, this newsletter is a labor of love. While there are some on this list
who support the products that I promote, most do not. Therefore, any income
derived from this newsletter pretty much covers my server costs and that's
about it. So a
thought occurred to me. Would you be willing to pay an annual subscription
fee for this newsletter in order to make it ad free? If so, how much would
be willing to pay for a guaranteed 24 issues a year (though potentially more)? 1.
$9 per year (75c/month) 2. $12 per year ($1/month) 3. $19.95 per year
4. $24.95 per year ($2/month) 5. $59.95 per year ($5/month) 6. Not
Interested Course,
the other great thing about a paid subscription is considering there'd be
more dedicated subscribers, there'd also be better chances to win free CDs.
Plus, there'd be the possibility of offering other great bonuses too. So
what's this newsletter worth to you? Drop me a line and let me know what
you think? _____________________________________SPONSOR__________

Celtic Music Band

link above Jim Block
is a former self-proclaimed Heavy Metal Rock Star Carbon dated back to 1966.
He's mellowed out through the ages has turned in the hot guitar licks for
a mellower sound. "Cry
of My Heart" will take you a mellow journey with the likes of Enya.
It's Celtic New Age at its finest with synthesizer textures blended with
acoustic instruments. The whole Noiseful Joy album is very relaxing with
beautiful sounds and melodic imagery. Beautiful music to listen and relax
to.
An
incredible blend of traditional Celtic music with modern rhythms. The latest
album is the perfect representation of what has made this band so incredibly
popular. The album features exquisite vocal harmonies, plus some great songwriting.
Plus, you'll find some great Celtic seafaring ballads. Highlights include
the title track "Sea of No Cares", plus, "Scolding Wife"
and "French Perfume".
4. Celtic
Music Band Feature Visit the artist's homepage by
clicking the link above Mad Rush
is family duo from Plymouth, Devon, United Kingdom with strong solo and harmony
vocals, plus some stirring vocal storytelling. "Music
of Time" is a song written by PG Hodge to which vocalist Deni Couch
added a a haunting melody for this stirring ghost song about an old man who
relives the passion and turbulence of the war years when he danced with his
love on Plymouth Hoe. Deni asked Trudie Hodge to write lyrics for a ghostly
waltz and was blown away by the sheer longing the lyrics convey. It's one
of those songs you have to rehearse over and over to sing without bursting
into tears. Mike O'Connor's haunting fiddle and the accordion and guitar
breaks twist the knife even further. It's definitely one for the sensitive
souls to romanticise over.
