FUNNY
GIVEAWAY OBSERVATION I find it very amusing that so many people sign up for
my newsletter and yet only a few people respond when they win CDs. Maybe
I'll have to change the CD Giveaway a wee bit for just the loyal readers?
I'd love to get some feedback on that. TOLKIEN
CD UPDATE If you haven't heard the news, the Brobdingnagian Bards have
been working on their next CD, "Memories of Middle Earth". The CD
is almost complete! Final touches will be made this weekend. So stay tuned! COMPILATION

The Irish Experience is a Blarney Phoenix, that rises up on Saint
Patrick's Eve and brings bountiful cheer to all the little people at heart. The
Irish Experience is a festive force, an insatiable "jig". The Irish
Experience is renewed vigor. They perform Celtic and Appalachian music on traditional
and electric instruments. The
Irish Experience begin the set with an delicate electric guitar when in steps
the electric fiddle playing an instrumental version of the "Rocky Road to
Dublin" slip jig. The guitar ends and the fiddle takes off backed by down
bass and percussion as the band jumps into a breakneck version of the "Tam
Lin" reel. It stops followed by bass version and back into the reell more
fiery than before. When
I read the bio of the band, they mentioned how Snowboarders loved their music,
and well, I can see that. It's high-impact, Mountain Dew (the soft drink), Celtic
music at it's finest.
Many, many people who first heard traditional Irish songs, heard
them from The Clancy Brothers. This collection by the Clancys and Tommy Makem
contains over two dozen songs that have become the staple for most pub bands from
"The Moonshiner" to "Rising of the Moon", "Foggy Dew"
to "The Parting Glass." It's a rousing collection at price that can
not be beat!

Music Band Feature Visit the artist's homepage by
clicking the link above Formed
in December 1998, the Angels' Share perform what they describe as Celtic music
that is guaranteed to get your hands clapping and your feet tapping. They have
appeared at venues around Northamptonshire as well as playing in the Lake District
and Scotland including the Western Highlands and Islands. Their recent tour of
Scotland also included Glasgow, Edinburgh and Falkirk. With an assortment
of musical backgrounds from classical and opera to Rock 'n Roll, they are sufficiently
different. When
you start listening to this song, you're gonna think you've found a Celtic New
Age band with some heavy synthesizers forming a body of sound behind a beautiful
flute solo. But then you find out what this band is made of as they break into
a toe-tapping reel that'll set your head spinning! Fantastic fiddle performance
by Mark Osborne.
