1. Celtic Music News

"I found your site, Celtic MP3's.com, while looking for a source of Celtic music online. I am a writer (aka Amy Busby) and most of my stories involve Scotland or Ireland in one way or another. I have found it easier to write if I am listening to celtic music and you site has been a great help!"
-Amy Shultz, Arizona

2002 nears a close and it's been a fantastic year. I'm especially excited since I get to visit my ma in Italy. Yeah, I wish it was Ireland, but I do adore Italy, and I'm slowly learning more and more about the Celtic world in Italy. No doubt there communities just as thriving throughout the world too. In any case, I'm hoping to share my love Celtic folk songs with the Italians in the Veneto. Drop by Bard Shows for news about where I will perform.

You will also note that I am now publishing the zine online. You can read it from the link above. I'm hoping to earn ever more traffic by doing so. But it's your referrals that help the most. So please add a link. Thanks!

John McLean Allan - "Star of the County Down"

"Stand Easy" is John Allan's latest Celtic Rock record featuring world class musicians who have played with The Chieftains, Korn, Joe Cocker, and the LA Scots Pipe Band.  It Contains traditional and Contemporary songs featuring vocals, bagpipes, whistle, mandolin, electric guitars, bass and drums.

"Star of the County Down" is by far one of the best versions I've heard of this song in a long while. It's rocked up with a pop/rock sound and very distinctive accented vocals. And it's just one of great tracks including, a stellar version of "Amazing Grace" and "Back Home in Derry".

Aidan Crossey - "Benedict's Rambles, Bill Hart's"

Originally hailing from County Armagh, Aidan now lives in South East London. For the past few years he's devoted his musical energies to navigating the mandolin (and related instruments). Editor-in-chief of the Irish music webzine "Pay The Reckoning", Aidan has made over 100 of his original tunes (jigs, reels, hornpipes, etc.) available to the Irish music community in a free document on his homepage.

This set kicks off with a jig composed by Aidan in honour of his son, Benedict, who was 6 months old at the time the tune was written. Then Aidan gives us that sprightly session favourite, Bill Hart's. Performed on mandolin with a light backing guitar, both tunes are well-played and a delight to listen to.

I have just had the chance to look more in depth to this wonderful contributor to the world of Celtic music. And from what I see so far, the only disappointing thing about his music it's difficult to order which I hope time will correct.
