Slane isn't the same band it used to be. It first began in 2004 as a four-piece folk group that performed mostly traditonal tunes. For two years, this is how the band was defined. After that, it changed into an original and acoustinc rock band, containing only one of the four original members. The band had now contained seven pieces, and was far more musically invovled than when it began.
Finally, Slane came into its own. The band now contains only two people, the ones who originally started the band. They record at long distances, creating a few solo numbers working on adding a third member. Big things are in store for this band. Keep an eye on them. For four years now, Slane has been playing music together. Now that they have found their nitche and their vibe, they consider themselves to be at the top of their game. The band has not been without their share of obsticals. Front man, Tom Keeley, has done a lot of solow work and recording on his own. In addition, Keeley had to reform Slane twice in its tenure, due to members leaving to different states or to persue other careers.
None of this got them down. And four years later, they have a traditional style to their music, but have added their own eclectic taste. In fact, it is their hope to have their first CD out very soon.
