"Juras Promessas" by Braia

Braia brings to the Celtic music spectrum a mix of cultures, languages, and takes listeners to another dimension. The use of Celtic instruments such as pipes, fiddles, whistles as well as the Brazilian influence bring out the progressive ambiences of the music. Braia is the point between Ireland and Brazil. And the music is just as unique.

"Schindig" by Mabon

Look no further, because this quintet is taking the Celtic music world by storm. Mabon is a creative venture, made up from music of accordionist Jamie Smith and brought to life with the energetic performances and of some of the best musicians on the scene.

Along with Jamie, who was described as 'possibly the fastest fingers in the west' by Green Man Review, Mabon also is made up of Oli Wilson-Dickerson on fiddle, Iolo Wilson on drums, Matt Downer on electric and upright bass, and Derek Smith on acoustic guitar.

The melody, the rhythm, the entire feel of the group and its music is beyond amazing. It's positively breathtaking. The traditional instruments are perfectly accompanied by those of the rhythm section. The effect is hypnotizing. The group is beyond professional, sounding as though they belong on a larger stage, yet kicking it up at faires and festivals, and delighting audiences everywhere.

"Thig an t-Eathar" ("The Boat Will Come") by Navan

Navan is a trio, made up of friends who just happen to be traditional Celtic singers: Sheila Shigley, Paul Gorman and Elizabeth Fine. Although based out of Madison, Wisconsin, this group perfomrs songs in the original languages of Ireland, Scotalnd, Brittany, Wales, Cornwall and the Isle of Man. Not only do they tour throughout the United States, but they also teach workshops. With three CDs out, this group delights in spreading the tradition of unaccompanied Celtic-language singing, and has taught diverse audiences ranging from Cub Scouts to unsuspecting beer tent patrons to professional symphony choirs. This is truly their passion!
