"Carrick Fergus" by Sweetfire Shannon Miller and Laural Thomsen are the root of the band known as Sweetfire. Miller, the vocalist, and Thomsen, who plays violin and viola, joined forces in early 2005 after they discovered a mutual resonance with Celtic music. This genre became the primary focus of their first album, released in December 2006.By 2007, Jana Heller, guitar, and Andy Gilhooley, bodrahn, doumbek, "laptop", joined Sweetfire and have helped strenghten to the rhythm and drive of the band. The music changed, evolving with touches of folk and rock. Heller also contributes to original songwriting in the band. Sweetfire is a combination of voice, strings, drums, and emotional depth...which comes across in their songs and truly strikes a chord with the audience.
