"In my music, I want my words to reflect truth and reality. When I write, I pull words from my soul, lay them on the table and pray someone else can see themselves in what I've written," Carey writes of her music. Coming from Scottish, German and Welsh decent, her main genre is "blues/soul," but she has written and performed several songs that would be considered Celtic.
