A UK three piece with a powerful mix of traditional Irish
and original tunes and songs. Haunting aires to raise the
hair on your neck and rip-roaring dance music get your feet
tapping.
I've listened to Straight Furrow's instrumental MP3s for a while, but somehow I missed their songs. "Spancil Hill" is a marvelous upbeat and grooving version of Michael Considine's immigrant ballad. You can definitely hear Straight Furrow's Fairport Convention influences, but it's the fair straight forward, honest folk sound that admire most from this barndance band. They've been a hit online and are once again a new hit in my book of great Celtic folk music!
