In County Kerry, Ireland, a group started a few musicians got together and came up with an aggressive idea for a band. The band was named Mongoose and from it came a contemporary Irish rock band who's big story begins in Sydney, Australia.
The story began when they decided to film a rockumentary of their world tour which began in mid-November 2003. The tour began in Australia, took them into New Zealand and Fiji, then on to the United States from California to Arizona, Texas to New Orleans, New York and Boston, and finishing up in Toronto, Canada before they head home.
Right before the left they recorded a few original tracks. Though I'm kinda hard-pressed to call them Celtic, they've some well-written, rockin' songs, including "A Moment In Time" which has some amazing mandolin playing. And for this reason alone, I'd say stop by and give this song a listen.
