Clandestine evolved out of a pipe and drum ensemble founded in 1991 in Houston, Texas. Highland pipes, fiddle, acoustic guitar, hand percussion, and vocal harmonies combine to create a sound that brings the brilliance of Celtic culture alive for the aficionado and the curious. Clandestine is a high energy band with a diverse repetoire which is firmly rooted in the Celtic tradition.
With stunning instrumentation and arrangements and vocal pieceswhich range from ethereal to rollicking, Clandestine brings the brilliance of Celtic culture alive for both the aficionado and thecurious. Plus, it's wicked fun.
The band features the talents of E.J. Jones on Highland bagpipes, Jennifer Hamel on guitar and vocals, Gregory McQueen on fiddle, and Emily Dugas on percussion and vocals.
Clandestine broke up in February 2nd, 2003. But in December 2006, the band reunited with a lineup change. Visit the website for details about the new group.
Recorded live at the Mucky Duck in Houston, Texas, this was the last CD released by Clandestine and features live performances of some their most-popular songs from their past albums.
My favorite album by this incredible band. It features some amazing tunes like The Bush Reels and "The Tidy Cottage", plus, the stellar songwriting of Jen Hamel in "Babylon". And let's never forget the beautiful vocal harmonies between her and Emily.
